The Oceania Taekwondo Union (OTU) was established on 16th of July 2005 in Sydney, Australia during the staging of the first Oceania Taekwondo Championships.
In 2017, OTU rebranded to World Taekwondo Oceania (WTO)
World Taekwondo Federation re-branding to World Taekwondo World Taekwondo was officially launched on June 24, 2017 as its new brand and logo were revealed at the General Assembly that was held a day before the first day of the 23rd World Taekwondo Championships in Muju, Korea.The new World Taekwondo logo, retains the “kicking athlete” design that was the “T” in the “WTF” as a link to the federation’s great heritage. The “kicking athlete” is coloured in the five colours of the Olympic rings against a white background to signify the federation’s position as the leader of Olympic taekwondo and to symbolize the globality of the sport.After its official rollout at the 23rd World Taekwondo Championships in Muju in 2017, the new brand will be incorporated in all official communications, marketing materials and branded merchandize.
Oceania Taekwondo Union re-branding to World Taekwondo OceaniaOceania Taekwondo Union officially rebranded to World Taekwondo Oceania in January 2018.The new World Taekwondo Oceania logo takes cues from the World Taekwondo logo, except for additional colouring that reflect the Oceania region.Whilst World Taekwondo Oceania still retains it current business structure, and will continue to trade under Oceania Taekwondo Inc, future correspondence will have the World Taekwondo Oceania branding.Additionally, World Taekwondo Oceania will be gradually adopting the acronym WTO. Currently and for the remainder of 2017 & 2018, World Taekwondo Oceania may continue to the acronym OTU and Oceania Taekwondo Union.
